The UAST is based on leading edge technology of the latest proven electronic components. Recently, the tester was used in our other airborne LRUs, such as EW POD main computer, and Remote Interface for Rocket and Guns. All design concepts, performance, construction, reliabilities, and qualification tests were based on our vast experience in airborne MIL-STD products.
The UAST is an advanced portable, light weight, and battery operated flight line test set. It is used to perform operational and system testing of the armament system which is to verify mission readiness and check for stray voltage.

The tester will have the ability to generate audio signals and RS-170 video. Those signals are part of the MIL-STD-1760 signals, and simulate the following signals:
- MIL-STD-1553
- RS-170 Video PAL/NTSC
- Audio
- High Voltage
- Low Voltage
- RS-422
